We use ShareFile principally to share large drawing files, photographs, and other data with our clients and consulting engineers. We also use ShareFile as a collaboration tool for projects while under construction - where contractors, subcontractors, clients, consultants, and all team members may share/exchange files such as shop drawings for review, progress reports, pay applications and other documents. ShareFile allows us to transfer files, data, and documents securely and immediately. It also offers layers of control concerning addressees, so that the right people get the right information. It also offers tools to confirm receipt of those files and documents by the right person. ShareFile allows a document requiring action to be tracked - to know whether the action has been completed or not.
  • Rapid, easy uploading of files
  • Saves e-mail addresses of participants for repetitive use on multiple projects
  • Simplifies grouping of activities, files, addresses, etc. to make using ShareFile time-efficient
  • Automates notification of uploads and downloads using e-mail
  • Provides easy file management for folders, inclusions, deletions, file properties, etc.
  • ShareFile works great among subscribers, and one can take advantage of ShareFile's best features of automation with other ShareFile users. But these features are less functional among non-subscribers. We can still send, receive, etc. among anyone with an e-mail address; but an extra level of effort is required for data security among non-subscrirers with whom we interact the most.
  • I like two-factor authentication when signing in, but it is a little cumbersome to use with ShareFile in its current mode. Anything to simplify this is appreciated.
Sometimes we just need to send a single large file, and compressing it is easier than using ShareFile. But generally, we use ShareFile to exchange or send anything over 20 MB.

A problem that we have not had [yet], but wonder about is this: Are ShareFile and its e-mailed links safe for transmission to/from U.S. Government computers? All of our public-sector clients are state and locality-based. We haven't had any interacton with U.S. entities. U.S. entities, especially DOD, are rather particular about these type of file-sharing sites and links embedded inside e-mails.

Sharing Files Securely

Sending files securely. I like sending files with the link, so that the files are not emailed with passwords.
  • Sending files to clients securely
  • Need to spend some time training for more uses.
  • Some of my clients are not able to open and download files.
  • I don't know how to troubleshoot their problems.
  • In order to help my clients, I don't know what questions to ask to allow them to download files.
I use the software to send completed tax returns for client review. This process usually works very well. Sometimes when I send files clients do not know how to download the files. I do not know how to troubleshoot their issues.

I use it to easily and securely transfer sensitive documents to/from my clients. Clients like it because they do not have to have a login to remember when they want to send me something quickly.
  • Secure email delivery.
  • Lets me know right away if I've received something.
  • Excellent security - I trust that.
  • Runs much too slowly when I go to retrieve a sent file.
  • No way to search for files I have sent or received - I can only sort by column headers. That's inexcusable.
It's a great product, and if it was not so painfully slow (and if it was searchable), I might consider using more of its tools and eliminating some other software.

Sharefile is mostly used by the two largest departments in our company...Preconstruction and Operations. We use it in lieu of running/hosting an FTP site. Its main purpose in context is to host files we would like to share and collaborate with people outside our organization. The Precon department uses it to host files for bids and if we win the job the Sharefile site moves to the Op's department to share files for the rest of the project. It solves the issue of trying to share large files outside of our company. We also use Sharefile's Enterprise capability of making internal based files available to our remote employees in a mobile app from Sharefile.
  • Sharefile is very good at making [our site] appear as an old fashioned FTP site to our non-technical contractors and customers who just want to be able to download files with no technical knowledge needed. This helps keep down support calls from outside the company.
  • Sharefile also has a great Outlook Plugin, which we do not use anymore as we standardized our email platform elsewhere, that allows your internal users the ability of sending any file size up to 2GB. It is seamless and does not require user knowledge.
  • For those companies that host files on-premise but want to "cloudify" them and make them available anywhere via a mobile app, Sharefile's enterprise grade capability works well for us. We have several drive letters that all users in the company can see and I can now make those available to anyone whether on or off premise.
  • Although their FTP like sharing capabilities are good, the ability to set up a site for many to share, there is a limit on how much granular config you can do on it. I would like to see them expand that to more capability.
  • I would like to see them have the capability to save the attachments from the Sharefile plugin sends longer. As it is they expire and one cannot go back a year and see what actual file they sent.
  • Their tech support has gone under the umbrella of Citrix's main support line so it takes too long and too much hassle to get to an actual Sharefile support person.
Sharefile is best suited for companies that already leverage CItrix or have no specific ties to any remote access type products. However, if a company is completely standardized on another product such as being a 100% VMWARE shop, that company may receive less benefit though even in that case Sharefile could be made to work pretty well despite the lack of continuity with the base products.

I have both used the product, as well as recommended [...] and implemented it at other companies, for file storage and sharing across multiple departments (enterprise-wide). Needed a simple to use, yet reliable way to track, share and control documentation without needing staff dedicated to just the care and feeding of the system.
  • Easy to use.
  • Does everything that 99% of companies need.
  • Sharing with internal and external users.
  • More branding options/customized appearance.
  • Good use some additional feature on the app/admin capabilities.
If you need a file sharing, collaborative product with version control, permissions, etc. But don't want something you need a dedicated, highly technical person to administer, this is the option. Easy to use, has the features that most people use and not so worried about the features that only 1% of the companies out there use. ShareFile is perfect for small to mid-sized companies.

We use Citrix ShareFile internally as our main data repository. All company-related documents are stored in a strict file and folder convention with strict policies and controls around access, control, and editing rights. We use both a local storage zone and a Citrix Cloud hosted zone as our primary platform is running off Citrix. The Cloud hosted element is utilized to take advantage of features such as cloud-based document viewing and editing. Also, we use rightsignature as our electronic signature platform which is tightly integrated with ShareFile. We enjoy the enterprise level features available to administrators and the audit reports. The Citrix Files app is generally used and for some customers we utilise the Sync app on a local file server, map the drive to power users. We find that copying large numbers of files is quite slow. We have also found that deep and complicated folder structures and long filenames greatly affects the performance negatively.
  • Ease of sharing files using links and setting access controls for these links
  • Enterprise-level controls for an administrator via policies
  • Enterprise-level of reporting and audit trails
  • Complex and deep folder structures negatively affect performance.
  • Certain file types do not function properly such as CAD files.
  • Performance can be slow.
  • Difficult to see folder permissions and who can access, view, & edit.
  • Hard to justify the extra cost to many existing Microsoft customers who have OneDrive / Sharepoint already.
We find that our clients in accounting and financial services love Citrix ShareFile. The drive mapper function with Citrix Files gives users a familiar experience to those that have come from a local file share scenario. The ability to control access, control, and permissions is great. The tight integration with rightsignature is a bonus. We have also found other "hidden" features such as assigning an email address that uploads directly to a folder which is a great solution with scanner apps. Unfortunately for engineering firms that use CAD files or organizations with deep and complex folder structures and long filenames, performance is not up to scratch and definitely not recommended.

ShareFile was used for encrypted file sharing between clients. One of the biggest concerns in our industry was sending information that contains PII through email. ShareFile offered a way to both sends files through an encrypted portal as well as sending emails through the same portal. ShareFile was implemented throughout our organization as the go-to product for these situations.
  • Ease of Use. Outlook plugin integrates effectively.
  • File retention policy (automatic deletion, archiving).
  • Users grow quickly (each client gets a separate account). Automated pruning would be nice.
  • I'm not aware of integration with Office365 online (only the outlook app). This could make it harder for some users.
  • It would be nice to have something that auto-scans emails and attachments for PII and would require Sharefile for those emails.
ShareFile works very well for sending encrypted attachments through the Outlook app. The one-click feature makes it intuitive for users. There are two scenarios I can think of where it wouldn't fit as well. If you have a significant user base who does not use the Outlook app ShareFile may be harder to implement as users would have to go to the web portal. Additionally, the Outlook app has an automated feature where it will encrypt files over a certain size. This inconsistency can annoy some users but that will be more of a deployment detail.

The CEO and all contractors are users. Contractors include psychiatric rehab program (PRP) service directors, their PRP supervisor, and myself--the compliance officer (I am also one of two ShareFile administrators for our online account). As an accredited and state-licensed service provider with requirements to keep regular HIPAA-compliant client records and reports, we chose ShareFile because our needs for doing so were best met out of all the electronic medical records SaaS companies that we reviewed. We are a very small company, we currently don't offer psychiatric services, so we pretty much needed an a la carte SaaS that we could customize for record keeping, have robust encryption across other online platforms, and would offer secure authenticated electronic signing capabilities. We don't do our own billing, which was another feature we didn't need.
  • Authenticated electronic document signatures--self-signing, and sending out for signatures. This is a robust feature that also allows for additional information to be added to documents being sent for signatures, such as dates, notes, and items omitted but needed.
  • Encrypted emails through ShareFile, Citrix apps for Outlook, Gmail, and Mac email systems. Encrypted email messages cannot be cut/pasted, nor forwarded without encryption. If only the attachments need to be encrypted, the email message can be unencrypted. Also, two options for securely opening an encrypted email (one with less credentials, one with more).
  • Documents that need to be signed multiple times by one client but on numerous different dates. If this is being signed electronically, it can be a tedious process.
  • Because of the encryption level that we need, MS Office documents aren't editable online in ShareFile. However, because ShareFile SaaS can be synced with MS File Explorer, docs can be edited by opening them directly from File Explorer and resaved directly back to ShareFile through File Explorer, instead of needing to download from/upload to ShareFile.
  • Well suited for high encryption purposes, such as HIPAA compliance. This is a major reason we chose this SaaS. We also had a choice of encryption levels if we hadn't needed such a high security level.
  • Well suited for electronic signatures, be that by keyboard, mouse signing, or finger signing on tablets and mobile devices.
  • Not well-suited for service providers who need structured EMR templates for billing, insurance coding, etc.
  • Well suited for large state/local government agencies to capture required documentation from contracted providers, especially large-capacity documents that surpass email attachment size limits.

We use ShareFile as global warehousing and share for internal files regarding active company projects and archival information that may be needed at a later time. Being that it can be accessed from anywhere, and we have staff in three states it is a quick and easy solution for sharing files and projects across all of our teams.
  • Seamless sharing of files.
  • Ease of access.
  • Easy to maintain and setup user-level access.
  • The interface and functionality on both apps and the drive mapper could use improvements, occasional disconnected or oddities with all three. Nothing that is a deal-breaker for us, however.
For our company with our remote workers and sales staff constantly on the go away from the office, it's a perfect, easy, and secure way to easily get signed contracts or quotes back to HQ for ordering. We are lucky that we are in an area where quality high-speed connections are available. If we were on a lower speed connection or had poorer connections available traditional methods would be far more suited.

I use it kind of like Dropbox, as a place to securely store clients' tax files and tax returns. I love that I can easily invite clients to set up an account and grant them access to just their specific folder. It is wonderful that it is both cloud-based and desktop-based, like Dropbox and they auto-sync generally pretty seamlessly. This works great for being able to password protect sensitive documents, UNLIKE Dropbox.
  • Secure storage
  • Ease of use for clients
  • Plenty of storage space
  • Unlimited client users
  • Email templates
  • The "Note" feature in the cloud-based version does not show up in the desktop version
  • Expensive for more than one firm-level user
This has been the perfect, affordable solution for my one-person business. However, if I had additional employees, I don't know that this is the tool that I would use. It gets very expensive to have multiple firm-level users. My clients have generally been able to use it without trouble, which is a huge plus. It seems to be widely accepted by the accounting community, so I feel that it is trustworthy from a sensitive data standpoint.

We are a remote team that uses Citrix ShareFile as our "filing cabinet" for all our documents and shared client work. We also use it as a storehouse for our internal training, marketing, and other commonly used documents.
  • Great security features when sharing folders or files.
  • Works offline and allows for collaboration on documents.
  • Easy to organize folder structures.
  • We have had some issues transitioning from Dropbox with syncing errors or corrupt files. Not as smooth as expected.
  • Some files only work on a web browser instead of desktop app (support is easy and helpful, but still this has been an issue and time drain).
Citrix ShareFile is a secure file storing and sharing solution for a small, remote team like ours. It has the functionality and security that larger clients and companies need while still being an affordable solution. If sharing folders and files with clients in a secure manner while also securely storing internal documents is a need, this solution hits the mark.

We utilize Citrix ShareFile mainly to share files across different firms. We are commercial real estate owners, and we need to work with floor plans every day. We work with architectural firms and brokerage firms that both need daily access to our floor plans, and we need a way for architects to provide us with our most up-to-date floor plans. This is a way for different firms to share files without us giving access to our servers. Secondarily, we use it for emailing large files or for maintaining some large marketing materials.
  • Allows folks from different firms access to the same files in a secure fashion
  • Provides a way to email extremely large files easily
  • Easily synchs with my desktop
  • I'd like to be able to group users and manage their permissions in one swoop
  • I'd like to be able to scroll through images more easily
Seamlessly sharing information with vendors is a high point. Citrix ShareFile is always introducing new features, including options to have electronic signatures gathered or to create workflows within a team. I do feel like the workflows are a secondary feature, but have honestly not implemented them at my firm, so can't truly speak to them.

The ShareFile is used internally in several departments of our company, mainly the sales and marketing since we have branches in different cities and we needed that the officials were able to work remotely in the same project. A safe form from the Citrix ShareFile fits perfectly into it, and with it, officials in different places can work together on the same project. ShareFile helped to cover the distance in a single detail.
  • Security - When sending the file by email it could simply be shared externally outside the company, with sharefile you will no longer have this concern, you create a link to send the file and decide who has the permission to access it.
  • Integration - You can easily integrate it with Outlook, or other Office 365 products, creating a very useful combination.
  • Easy and fast implementation - After the purchase in a few minutes you will be using it, its implementation is easy and fast, you do not have to be an expert to configure it.
  • Editing in the mobile app - it is a little limited, some tools have this custom, they deliver in the mobile application an adapted and limited version of the web / desktop version and the sharefile is fitting in this point
  • The search function - is also somewhat limited, I had trouble finding some terms, I could have more filters
  • Price - is a bit high, could be more competitive
If you work on your own or work in teams with large numbers of people or work with people in different branches or locations that need to work together on one project, Citrix ShareFile will fit perfectly into it, it will "eliminate physical distance" by reducing your expenses with travel, tickets for company employees etc.

We use ShareFile for all of our field teams to be able to easily access the project documents while they are on site throughout our area of operations. Using ShareFile has helped our "out of the office groups" have access to all their necessary project documents while having them backed up, all without having to wait for long download times from remote servers. It also allowed our teams to share pertinent information with our subcontractors as needed while still keeping them safe from tampering.
  • I think that one of ShareFile's greatest strengths is its ease of use. With the outlook plug-in sharing large documents is so quick and easy.
  • I also like the security and control that is provided for who can access the documents and tracking the changes within them. I think it does well at protecting information that leaves the company.
  • I also think the website is well organized and easy to use. It was very easy for us to implement and train our employees on the proper use of the website and software.
  • One of the downsides that I noticed was that there is no document lockout tool so if multiple users were to access and edit a file at the same time there is potential for version errors.
  • Strong internet coverage is required. Without good internet, accessing files and syncing them to the cloud could be difficult.
  • The price can be a bit high especially for the smaller businesses but you do get the support that is not available for free cloud services like Google Drive.
Industry-tailored workflows: ShareFile has 10 key industries and the workflow will match that industry. For example: for accounting, the app will display options for clients to sign documents, which cuts out on them having to post or fax documents. I think it is not as good for small businesses especially if you have part-time employees as paying for their access as well can add up quickly for overall costs.

We use ShareFile as a solution for all our storage both internal and external. It is really nice because clients can upload their documents directly to their files and we can share documents that are secured in various ways. I found it really effective and secure to send clients or their advisors a link to their files with an expiration date. This ensures we were security compliant and reduced the risk of cyber hacking.
  • Being a secure portal for clients to upload their documents.
  • It integrates with RightSignature. This streamlined our processes because we can send to RightSignature directly from ShareFile without having to download the file.
  • It is a very secure platform with many ways to send files. We preferred the link version but you can also attach secure and send via email.
  • It would be helpful if it would integrate with more software.
  • The search feature could be improved. The filters are very limited.
  • File history could also use some improvement.
It is well suited in a scenario when files need to be shared internally and externally. The security features are relevant and easy to use. It is not well suited to use as personal storage. Downloading files is also simple.

Citrix Files (formerly ShareFile) is probably one of the best storage services around. It has strong security that maintains PICs compliance and has one of the fastest sharing platforms around. This was one of the last things we implemented for a completely cloud-based office environment and couldn’t be happier.
  • Secure file sharing with clients.
  • MS Outlook integration.
  • Mobile apps.

Citrix ShareFile is our file/document storage solution. We are using it across the entire organization.
  • It offers a variety of tools to access the platform, such as web, desktop, mobile.
  • File storage solution in the cloud, more robust than a Dropbox, Google Drive, etc.
  • Support is not as good as it used to be. Need more training and better response time.
  • Performance issues seem to be plaguing it as of recently, such as latency issues. Citrix ShareFile won't give a response as to why they are occurring.
  • Need to focus on performance, integrations, and streamlining user administration and management. The UI is not really designed well from an administration standpoint, even after its recent design update, it requires more clicks.
Citrix ShareFile is a good cloud solution with a lot of applications to access in the cloud. This is good because it allows users access however they prefer. It offers unlimited storage capabilities and is nice and affordable.

It's being used by the finance departments and it's used in IT. Customers can send users secure files in a ShareFile. Our staff gets notified and is able to download the files. It's a great way to send large files securely. We can place links in our email auto signature and on our website so our customers can send files to us.
  • It stores files securely
  • It provides email notifications when files are uploaded, viewed and downloaded.
  • You can provide customers and employees URL's to either upload files to you or download files from you.
  • ShareFile has a widget that you can use to build a form that can be placed on your website so that customers can upload files to your shared folders within ShareFile. If you need to change the widget you have to start over and create a new widget. It would be helpful if you could just edit the widget.
It works very well for sending and receiving applications, sensitive documents or Excel lists. You have the ability to monitor when someone views, downloads, or uploads files. I also like how you can put a retention policy on files so they can be purged automatically after a set time period.

I use it to request files like bank statements, etc. I also use it to send files and photos to clients. I am a small corp. and have only 1 employee. So it is used by the whole organization. I have also been using it for estimates, engagement letters and tax forms I need signed in conjunction with e-signature.
  • Sharing of documents with clients. They can easily access and view documents.
  • Requesting documents from clients. My clients find it easy to upload their documents.
  • Would like to see the price lower.
  • I would also like to see a clearer help section with how to's for easier use in our office.
  • Have indefinite storage times on all documents. I have unlimited data storage, so there shouldn't be any drop off dates on documents sent to me or to my clients in the form of requests.
I have used Citrix ShareFile for two years and it has worked well. However I have another app that I have been using on my desktop, that I just switched to in cloud version. It will allow me to do what Citirx ShareFile does, and more, for about 60% less. That is a huge savings for me.

We are an AS9100 company that must conform to the NIST 800-171 and the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement Clause 252.204-7012 due to doing business with the US Government. Citrix ShareFile is being used by our organization to securely transfer engineering data from our engineers, project managers and estimators to our vendors and customers. Due to the potentially sensitive nature of CUI (Controlled Unclassified Information), it is required for us to safeguard the information and know where it has been and where it went.
  • First and foremost, it is simple to use. Within minutes of our purchase of ShareFile, we were up and running with our first user and client.
  • Second, there are multiple ways to use and take advantage of ShareFile. There is a plug-in for Microsoft Outlook, a desktop app as well as Sync. All options are easily implemented and simple to navigate.
  • Third, When thinking about simplicity and making it as seamless as possible for your end users, you can also set up ShareFile as a Drive Map that allows your users to take advantage of the Windows file system without dealing with synchronization of account content.
  • There are so many advantages to this product, however, I feel that the simplicity and functionality are the main advantages. Citrix ShareFile tech support is amazing and they really (if you need help) answer all question extremely fast.
  • In my experience with Citrix ShareFile, I have not found any significant CONs to report. Many people may have Drobox and other products...I would say that these products are not an apples-to-apples comparison. There are significantly different pricing structures between products, some of them being a little on the pricey side if you are a small business.
  • I have heard of a few people having issues with browser compatibility, however, I have not. We have about 20 users that are using IE11 as well as Edge w/ Windows 10 Pro and we haven't experienced any issues at all.
  • The only function/feature I would like to see improved is the audit reporting and logs. You have to go to each folder/individual to obtain the activity log/report and to me that is cumbersome. I would like to see a centralized audit log generation tool that categorizes the users and the folders and provides details needed.
Well suited for people that need to transfer large files between people or businesses. We were using FTP & password (AES256) encrypted Zip files to transfer data, which is fine for an every now and then function but was becoming a hindrance to productivity. The communication between sender and recipient was slowing down the process of delivering and receiving the content due to providing the decryption password etc...With ShareFile, you simply set up the recipient as a client and they get a welcome email to create the account for seamless transfers.

I can't think of any reason where it wouldn't be appropriate to use ShareFile other than it may be cost prohibitive for small businesses. My company found it very affordable when compared to other larger products in the industry. One of the great aspects of ShareFile is that you can add unlimited Clients as you only have to pay for per Employee use.

We are using it to share files with partners and vendors outside our agency as well as to begin the process of digitizing tenant files (we're a property management company and nonprofit). Sharefile helps us to share large files with people as well as organize our existing files.
  • Set up templates for your folders so every folder has the same structure.
  • Work with project management software (such as Podio) to automate some organizational tasks.
  • Communicate with outside vendors and share large files with people that shouldn't be emailed due to size or confidentiality.
  • There's a bit of a learning curve getting Sharefile templates and user profiles set up, but once you're set up it is very user-friendly.
  • We haven't been clear on what "ShareConnect" is and so we haven't been using it.
  • The desktop app for Sharefile has less functionality than the browser version, and it caused some confusion initially. Again, we just don't use the desktop app.
ShareFile is great for setting up files that need to be set up in the same way every time, i.e. tenant files, client files, etc. The templates make it easy for several staff members to use the system in exactly the same way. ShareFile is also great for sharing large or multiple files with vendors or outside partners. We've also used ShareFile to accept applications that require a large number of supporting documents by using the integration with Podio webforms and GlobiFlow automations.

We moved away from a previous cloud based project management service which caused us to regularly run into permissions issues and storage limits. We found the ability to send files to someone who doesn't have a Citrix account to be very easy and the unlimited storage tier is a much needed option. We struggled before with adding someone else to the project late in the process, but now we can easily give permission to a file or whole folder as needed. The Outlook plugin is also a game-changer for us, which I'll speak of in the Pros.
  • The Outlook plugin for Sharefile is the most useful feature they offer. The ability to automatically convert files that are too big for normal email into Sharefile links is extremely useful.
  • Along the lines of the Outlook plugin, but important enough for it's own "bullet point", is the ability to request files from others that may not have a cloud storage or "FTP" site solution yet. We just require a First & Last name, and email, so that we can track who downloads & when, and they don't need to set up any account or remember a password.
  • The user interface in the web browser and on the Android/iOS apps are very clean, smooth, and intuitive to use.
  • Right now it's lacking some minor customization options that I would expect from this type of product. The banner and URL links that embed in emails could use some extra customization like company logos or other unique features to let the recipient know the links are really us, because we've gotten comments that it looks like a virus link to some people.
  • The Dashboard screen has many shortcuts and buttons, but they are all fixed and unchangeable. Some of the features are a little buried in sub-menus, that could easily be pulled out.
It's great if you're new to "cloud storage" and/or aren't totally locked in to another ecosystem, such as Microsoft Office 365 or Google G Suite which have their own cloud storage solutions. Sharefile does have plugins to help ease that gap between the two companies, but it's not ideal. We use Office 365 for the typical programs, such as Word & Outlook, but decided not to use OneDrive, since ShareFile seemed to actually have more features in their Outlook plugin and the ease of adding/removing users within files and folders.

If you're already heavily using Google Drive with G Suite, there's no real benefits to switching, as that has a pretty well-rounded feature set at the moment.

We use ShareFile to store and share all of our documents as we strive to be a completely paperless office. Everyone in our company uses it to store all of our documents as well as copies of our clients' source documents and we also use it to share and receive documents from our clients. My remote employees can access it anywhere they have internet access and we know that no matter who is working on something they can always access anything they need.
  • Secure storage of our files while still having them easily accessible is the number one reason we use ShareFile - we can set passwords for access, share links via email and easily transfer information back and forth to our clients without worrying about unauthorized access. It's taken a lot of the worry out of being remote and paperless.
  • Being able to quickly access everything is also important and ShareFile makes this easy as well. If you're working at a desktop computer in the office there are several sync tools that you can use to sync the files between the computer and the web app so that you don't even always have to log into a browser to access a file - it's right there on your computer for you and any changes you make or anything you add/delete/move will sync right back up to the web app so everything is always up to date.
  • We use the Drive Mapper extensively for syncing our computers and the web app and occasionally it will somehow "lose" the connection and when you open a folder it will be empty. But if you go to the web app the files are there - restarting the drive mapper will bring them back. This is literally the only issue we've had with ShareFile at all so if they could fix this I wouldn't have any Cons at all.
When I purchased ShareFile I was told that is was specifically created with the accounting industry in mind. I don't know if that's true or not, but it certainly is a great fit for us. We have a LOT of documents and using ShareFile helps us to stay organized without having paper take over the entire office and it also gives us peace of mind that our information is safe and secure and that we're not going to lose it all of we have computer issues here in the office. The fact that our remote employees can also access everything from anywhere also makes it wonderful for any industry where people need to access files on the go.

I manage a real estate team for a large independent real estate brokerage. I use Citrix sharefile predominantly to store and send our contracts/other documents to the main office and to my team members. I also use it to send sensitive documents to parties when the situation calls for it, like our CPA for example. It allows me to transmit the documents which many times have large file sizes without touching the storage capacity of my Google account.
  • Unlimited storage.
  • Easy to use for most of our tasks, the graphics are appeasing.
  • Allows us to send documents securely.
  • Allows us to send documents with large file sizes much easier.
  • Doesn't impact our email storage capacity.
  • The phone app works very well! I use it a LOT.
  • Isn't very compatible with Microsoft Edge.
  • Cost.
  • Would like to be able to better track what was sent/received in their system. Or make it easier to determine that.
Well suited for the banking and real estate industry where sensitive data needs to be shared/sent. Especially large file sizes and lots of documents. Might not be as good for a casual use business or creative arts. Probably not cost effective there at all.
